A course with two objectives: to improve participants' spoken English, as well as learn about American politics and the upcoming presidential election.
Each week we'll read short articles, watch news clips, and together discuss the most recent political developments in the US-- while at the same time practicing our English. As part of the course we will also engage with topics central to American history and society, such as the Constitution, race, gun culture etc.
Course participants will get the chance to broaden their vocabulary as well as become more confident in their spoken English. We will also meet on Election Day itself and have an opportunity to discuss the results.
To make for a relatively homogenous Course we encourage that students joining the course speak English at level B1 or higher. Please check our niveaubeskrivelser to check if your present level of English lies within this frame.
