Nyhed
This course is for both beginners and more experienced participants who wish to develop their skills in sewing and pattern making. Throughout the course, you will work on your own project – either a garment based on a commercial pattern that will be adjusted to your body, or a pattern developed from a favourite dress, pair of trousers, or another item from your wardrobe. You will receive individual guidance and have the possibility to learn essential sewing techniques such as slits, pockets, waistbands etc. The teaching is both creative and hands-on, and you will receive inspiration and professional support to develop your personal sewing project.
What to bring
On the first day, I will guide you regarding the equipment you need, including: a sewing pattern or garment to trace, fabric for your project, pencil, eraser, rulers, tape measure, paper scissors, thread, tailor’s chalk, pins, and a sharp pair of fabric scissors. Bring what you already have, and we will go through it together. Bringing your own sewing machine is recommended. Free access to a few machines is available, but in limited capacity, and they will need to be shared with other participants.
Materials
Tracing paper, calico/toile fabric, and interfacing can be purchased from the instructor at a reasonable price – or you are welcome to bring your own.
