Teaching will be held in English with translation of specific terms into French or Danish whenever needed.
Learn how to sew, create your own style and give new life to textiles through upcycling! In this class you will get a new experience working with old fabrics or dead stock and you will be learning the technical skills necessary to express your creativity and uniqueness through a piece of clothing or an accessory that you created.
The class will provide basic patterns and will guide you to forge and upcycle pieces or accessories that expresses your unique personality and where your creativity can run free. We will focus on helping you to find your own style. We will also learn about natural dye on fabrics.
We invite you to learn the artisanal slow fashion way, the craft and know-how to create your own pieces of clothing and accessories and celebrate unique pieces using upcycling.
You will be learning how to combine different colors and textiles in ways that are sustainable, cool, creative and fun. You will also learn to work with pattern placement and more.
You will be attending an exclusive course with the french designer from Hôtel Vetements herself. She has a specialized degree in sustainable fashion, upcycling and natural fabric dye and a true passion for sharing and transmitting the knowledge she has accumulated over the years in the industry.
This is a class for students with a little previous sewing experience.
There are sewing machines on site, but feel free to bring your own tools. You bear the expenses yourself for miscellaneous materials.
