NORDØ - Nordhavn's brand new urban area

NORDØ - Nordhavn's brand new urban area

For more than 100 years, the large, windswept northern harbor area was fenced off and inaccessible to anyone other than the harbor's employees. Now everything has changed. The wildest district in Copenhagen is called Nordhavn! Nordø is Nordhavn's newest addition and is set to become the district's most exclusive quarter, and Nordhavn is already Denmark's most expensive urban area.

Join us for a walk by the water and experience innovative Danish architecture. We start at Nordhavn St. and passes Charlottehaven and the tower with hotel apartments designed by Lundgaard & Tranberg. We hear about Nordhavn's new metro station and look at PFA, the Riffelsyndicat, Paustian, Svanemølleværket, Tumlingerne, Østre Landsret, Comwell, CIS and the container port CMP. We pass Denmark's largest car park under Kronløbsøen and visit Konditaget Lüders and the new 'seabed' park below. We see the converted cement silos, the Portland Towers, the UN City, The Silo and the new dormitory UMEUS.

We round off with a visit to Nordø, which will undoubtedly become Nordhavn's new star with the spectacular building 'Spidsen' by Cobe, which rises a full 62 m and contains Denmark's largest indoor atrium. Nordhavn has become the symbol of the new golden age of Danish architecture.

The tour is 3-4 km and takes place at a normal walking pace.
