I teach slip-casting ceramics with a focus on craftsmanship, materials, and process. My goal is to create a calm and collaborative studio environment where we explore techniques, share knowledge, and develop a deeper understanding of ceramics together.

Education

I hold a formal degree in Interaction Design and Graphic Design. I also gained hands-on experience working in a ceramics studio under a master ceramicist and have since run my own studio. Through my professional practice, I have had the opportunity to work alongside and learn from a range of skilled professionals, broadening both my understanding of and appreciation for ceramics.

Teaching Experience

My teaching experience includes mentoring and teaching during my time as a student, as well as extensive experience presenting and speaking publicly through university courses and professional settings.

I teach slip-casting ceramics and enjoy sharing both knowledge and processes with my students. I have great respect for the craft and a deep appreciation for what makes slip casting such a unique ceramic technique.

My aim is to create a calm and focused studio environment where learning feels collaborative. I see the studio as a space where we can learn from one another, exchange ideas, and enrich each other's understanding of the craft. For me, sharing knowledge is a special and almost magical process.

Through my classes, I hope students gain insight into the unique process of slip casting and develop an appreciation for the many steps involved. We also work with finishing and glazing techniques, while exploring the chemistry of ceramics to build a deeper understanding of the material.

What motivates me most as a teacher is the opportunity to share knowledge and see how students engage with the subject through curiosity and questions. I firmly believe that one of the best ways to learn is to teach.
