Classical Drawing – Introduction

Learn classical drawing – master proportion, light, and composition

You don’t need talent to be able to draw. What you need is practice and an understanding of the fundamental skills of figurative drawing such as: contour, proportions, light/shadow, perspectives, and composition.

Whether you are new to drawing or already have some training, working on refining your skills in a focused and creative environment will contribute to deepening your own drawing practice.

Combining classical exercises with more gestural and inventive ones we will explore different ways of seeing. You will be working with quick sketches as well as refined studies which could include subjects like still life, portrait, studies of master drawings or architecture.

In addition, you will be introduced to both historical and contemporary artists as inspiration and reference.

Together we will work on creating a focused and inspiring space for learning, sharing, and giving feedback. By the end of the class you will have deepened your confidence and gained the tools to keep on drawing.
